Orsay offers its employees more than just a place to work. We want to create the basic conditions in which each employee can contribute and develop his/her individual skills and thus make an important contribution to the success of the company. These basic conditions include:
The well-being of our employees is the prerequisite for successful, committed and motivated work.
Therefore, today we have to be more than just an employer, and we therefore help our employees to find an optimum balance between job, family and leisure time.
We achieve this by offering flexible working conditions such as our own kindergarten, the Villa Filou (Link), flexible working hours, various part-time and homeworking models, or modern and mobile means of communication.
We promote gender equality, and multicultural, multinational teams.
With women making up 95% of Orsay’s workforce, Orsay is also a very feminine company.
Women at Orsay have excellent training qualifications and are very self-confident when demanding equal career opportunities. At Orsay, all possibilities are open to women. We also help our employees to find an optimum balance between job, family and leisure time, i.e. an optimum Work-Life Balance. (Link)
Orsay regularly organises introductory events for new employees.
The aim of this is to enable new employees to make the best possible start at Orsay, to familiarise them with the premises, and allow them to exchange experiences.
So that you can get to know your colleagues and the processes in your team, we have developed a so-called sponsor concept. During your first few weeks, a team colleague will be your sponsor and assist you with any queries and questions you may have, and help you fit in as quickly as possible.
Furthermore, we will draw up an individual initial training plan for you in order to give you the possibility to get to know the most important interfaces, contacts and work flows for your specific position. The initial training plan includes a visit to a branch for several days to familiarise you with our core business, as well as above all to get to know Orsay’s customers.
Of course, we also support our new employees in personal matters such as
looking for accommodation, work permits, choosing health insurance,
leisure activities, etc.
In April 2005, Orsay created IDEAL, an idea management concept. The aim behind IDEAL is to familiarise all Orsay employees with the company’s corporate targets of achieving customer satisfaction and cost reductions, improving or facilitating work, and increasing revenue.
IDEAL focuses on the employee, placing him/her personally at the centre of ideas at his/her workplace. There he/she is the specialist and can recognise problems and implement solutions. Employees are supported in this regard by their superiors, who help them if required to put a specific idea into words to ensure its implementation, to promote solutions to problems, and, not least, to motivate them.
Health is becoming more and more important in the world of work and life. It is the basic prerequisite for quality of life, efficiency and willingness to work and thus ensures a good Work-Life Balance. (Link).
For this reason, we have for several years been organising health days for all employees, when they can undergo a check-up carried out by our company doctor together with representatives of health insurance companies. Typical check-ups and examinations conducted include blood sugar tests, eye tests, Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement, back training, massages, etc.
In addition, the health specialists are ready to give advice on all questions relating to health.
Further aspects of the company’s health promotion include providing regular influenza vaccinations or holding information events, e.g. about smoking or sports activities.
Orsay offers its employees two possibilities for a company pension plan: direct insurance, and a pension fund.
Through cooperation with an efficient partner, you can benefit from attractive financial conditions. Orsay of course makes a contribution to both forms of old-age pension.
The highlights of each year are our end-of-the-year parties in our two headquarters in Willstätt and Wroclaw, at which we come together to celebrate the end of the year.
We opened our kindergarten, the "Villa Filou", on 02.05.2005. We found suitable rooms in a 150-year-old former Willstätt municipal authority kindergarten in order to guarantee the supervision by professional staff of Orsay employees’ children aged between three months and twelve years, so that the parents can calmly concentrate on their work.
There are numerous benefits for employees: the kindergarten’s opening times are adapted to the company’s working hours; there is no need for a time-consuming search for a childminder; the children can be reached easily; and the travelling distance is short. Bilingual care (German-French) is even offered. Link to Press
