STYLING TIPS

OUTFIT TO GO OUT IN

Name:Anna1
Age:29 years
Profession:Media designer
Problem:Lack of ideas for leisure time outfits
Wish:To find her own style
At the office, Anna likes wearing plain outfits and tends to be in the background. In her leisure time, on the contrary, she would like to attract attention. So far, she has failed in her attempts to find her own style: she used to reach for clothing items which did not fit together. Our stylist has recognised her as a biker. With her natural manner and her sporty, almost boyish build, she should focus on sporty, casual, but stylish clothes.
8 9
Anna loves jeans and feels most comfortable in jeans. Our stylist has shown her how she can turn a boring outfit into a unique look with few easy hand movements. A scant biker jacket made of artificial leather makes every pair of jeans look good, but at the same time, it is very feminine. For the complete outfit, accessories are very important: short leather gloves and a narrow belt decorated with rivets must not be forgotten.
4 7

Of course, you do not need to be a member of a motorbike club to choose the biker style. A biker jacket – with a zipper, a stand-up collar and numerous pockets – is one of the key products this season. In combination with a bootcut or slim jeans and a printed T-shirt, the jacket is suitable both for leisure time and for evenings. You can consider court shoes with high heels or cowboy boots, or the cool Chucks: your own well-being is the priority here.

 FOR CITY STROLL

Name:
Kerstin
1
Age:
22 years
Profession:
trainee
Problem:
chaos in the wardrobe
Wish:
expressive outfit ideas

As a trainee at ORSAY (wholesale and foreign trade with business management and foreign languages as additional qualifications), Kerstin has a good overview of current trends. She is also fond of shopping, but she always makes spontaneous decisions to buy new clothes without having a clear idea: her wardrobe overflows, but she often has “nothing to wear”. “I need ideas to arrange interesting outfits”, explains the 22 year old. Our stylist team has advised her to try the very feminine sixties look.

5 6

The red coat with a Peter Pan collar and shortened sleeves follows the most recent fashion trend and brings colour to the dark outfit. A “little black dress“ is smartly combined with black leggings – this way, the sixties style gets a modern touch. Plastic jewellery and a decorative handbag complete the feminine and girlish look. Perfect for a stroll or a party after work.

The sixties look with a different approach: well-tried forms and classic colours in a modern interpretation.

The dress we offered Monica was a delicate graphite check, suitable to wear for both the office and going out as well as being a perfect match for the leggings that were a hit of the summer season. The red umbrella can be a rainy day companion or be used as a parasol. The elegant, leather gloves will give her added lustre and will work with elegant, evening wear.

Job:
IT-businesswoman
Problem:
no flexibility in her wardrobe
Wish:
stylish outfits for after work party

Sylvia likes going to after-work parties with her friends and colleagues. Her wardrobe, however, she finds inhabited by official suits, evening wear or casual clothes. She is looking for something exciting without being elaborate for informal evenings at a club or restaurant. She wants to attract attention, but without any great efforts at styling. "Lively but not tarted up," this 30 year-old told our stylists.

THE SUMMER

s1s12s11s101s10s8s7s6s5s9s3s3s2

Name:Luise1
Age:33 years
Profession:Product designer
Problem:lack of courage to wear dresses
Wish:comfortable, feminine outfits

Luise is fond of convenience: usually the comfort of wear is more important for her than stylistic appearance. Or, to be more precise: it was more important. Recently, the 33-year-old has decided to turn her life inside out. The change will naturally involve her dress style: Luise wants more colours and more...dresses. Up until now, she has had only trousers in her wardrobe.

Dresses always seemed strange for Luise. And the above-knee length ranked first on her no-go list. Our stylist found a good way to talk Luise into wearing dresses: leggings.

The stylist’s trick – leggings – has paid off: Luise looks very stylish, she can show more of her legs, and she still feels confident in spite of wearing a mini-dress – it’s almost as if she is wearing trousers.

The combination: a shirt with a dress and leggings is already a classic outfit, but it will make a great comeback in the autumn/winter season. The look is very versatile and suitable both for the office and for a club. It can be sportier or more elegant, depending on the accessories.

The right colours determine the overall look. As a summer type, Luise should watch out for cool and “twilight”, which are not very bright shades. All dimmed, tinged, powdery colours are suitable for her. Our stylist has chosen an anthracite-coloured knitted dress and a blouse-type shirt in lilac. The colours of the accessories are also suited: from old rose through aubergine to claret. The colours emphasise her fair complexion and cause the skin’s redness to vanish.

SUMMER – THE MASTER OF SOFTNESS

The summer type is a composer of delicate tones, light and soft like the summer wind. This type is decent and noble in his/her appearance and often seems to be almost translucent in his/her delicacy. Their personality and charisma are best underlined in pastel colours and soft powdery tones with blue undertones.

SKIN
Type 1 has a pale, almost transparent and delicate skin with a bluish undertone, which is especially visible at cold times.
Type 2 has a skin with good blood circulation, with distinctly gleaming and fine vessels.
Type 3 has a darker, olive-coloured skin tone. With this colour type you can confuse the type with other autumn types. The summer type usually gets a brown tan, and the autumn type often gets burnt in the sun.

HAIR
Ash blonde, ash brown, blue grey, pearly white, pale- to middle-brown. Suitable for highlights.

EYES
The colour of the eyes is mostly blue, green, aquamarine, grey or a soft hazelnut tone. The iris of blue or green eyes has the appearance of broken glass. The eye balls are not as glaring as with the winter types and rather creamy white.

COLOURS
The summer type, dressed in own colours, seems somehow harmonic, noble and elegant, like no other colour type. All blue-based, cold, delicate and muted tones become this type: Wool white, soft, tinged grey tones, grey beige, anthracite, pale-, smoke-, jeans-, dove-blue, reed green, mint green, delicate blue green, mallow, aubergine, bordeaux red, powdery pink, raspberry, lilac, dark cocoa-brown, black brown

JEWELLERY
A Rangy design becomes the delicate colour of the summer type best. The jewellery should be made of silver, white gold or platinum. Pearls in delicate rosy or blue tones are very favourable. TO AVOID
black and snowy white, gold, orange, golden green, all warm, yellowish tones, colours with a warm undertone.

THE WINTER

Name:

Messelina

1a
Age:
21 years
Profession:
trainee
Problem:
lack of courage to use colour
Wish:
sporty, comfortable outfits for everyday use
Messelina is a trainee at ORSAY in wholesale and foreign trade with business management and foreign languages as additional qualifications. The 21 year old is familiar with the most recent fashion trends and is eager to try new options, but she sometimes lacks the courage to use colour. It’s a pity for a winter type who looks good in strong shades. Messelina loves informal, rather sporty clothes, which guarantee freedom of movement, but she would also like to underline her – actually perfect – figure. Our stylist has advised her to try a layered look in the style of the 80s – comfortable, yet with oomph and absolutely in. The strong and cool winter colours are also there.

7 3a

Two different tanktops underline the ultimate layer look and grab attention with strong colours – a hit some 30 years ago. The cosy hooded sweatshirt is upgraded by an elegant pink handbag and plastic jewellery: she’s not supposed to look too sporty!
The black drainpipe jeans are perfect for winter types and Messelina's sporty figure: comfortable, yet feminine. Completed with ballerina shoes – perfect for the office, but also well-suited for going out.

Perfect for a winter type: strong pink and turquoise combined with black and grey.

WINTER – THE CONTRAST PLAYER

Winter women and men are dramatically distinguished by contrasts. Bright, radiant primary colours with blue undertones and pale, icy tones become them.

SKIN
1. Type "Snow White”
The skin is very pale and seems to be almost translucent, similar to fine china. 2. Type “Southerner”
The skin has a cool, slightly olive-coloured shade. The influence of sun provides the skin with an intense olive-coloured tan.

HAIR
Dark brown, black brown, deep black with a natural bluish shine and blonde white are very common hair colours in winter types. These colours create an impressive contrast to the pale porcelain complexion.

EYES
Black brown, hazelnut, grey blue, icy blue and violet to interesting crystal-clear primary tones. The intense colour of the iris forms a clear, good contrast to the bright white of the eyeball.

COLOURS
Vigorous, cold colours furnish the winter type with a strong high profile. The palette includes all colours of the rainbow: bright red, blue red, burgundy, blue green, bottle green, royal blue, icy blue, navy blue, radiant pink, cold pink, magenta, blue turquoise, blue violet, all cold grey shades, grey beige, icy yellow, pale yellow, citron. The type looks especially good in bright black and pure white.

JEWELLERY
Silver, platinum and white gold, black, anthracite. Winter types look particularly good in everything that is extravagant and costly.

TO AVOID
Orange, gold, all muted and powdered colours with yellow undertone. As for brown – only completely dark, cold black brown is possible. Red tones are unfavourable for highlights, too.

THE SPRING

Name:

Katharina

1a
Age:

21 years old

Profession:

Trainee at ORSAY

Problem:

A lack of appropriate wardrobe, before going to the centre of fashion

Wish:

Colourful, funny collections, just right for the Parisian streets

Katherine is starting her training in Paris, and is afraid that her wardrobe, which is rather uniform and sober, will not be suitable on the streets of the capital city of France. It is a fact that Parisian women have a reputation for having good taste and stylistically sophisticated outfits. The grey colours that Kate has a lot in her wardrobe do not match her type of beauty too; she is a spring type and should wear warm, expressive, yellow shade colours

3 sonnenblume-2

Katherine has asked our stylist for a piece of advice. “Beige, yellow, orange, grass green, and tomato red are ideal colours,” that is what she heard at the beginning, which is the most important thing to get rid of the dark grey shades and the black colour, which are Kate’s favourite. Amber jewellery would be a perfect match.

Wearing a jacket or not: fitting colours is a fundamental thing.

A basic tomato red sweater can be matched with her choice with either trousers or a skirt and stylised elegantly or casually. The copper-coloured hair harmonises perfectly with the clothes that brighten up her face and make a dynamic impression of the whole image.

SPRING - THE LIVELY LITTLE LUMP OF SWEETNESS

This type emanates something gentle, fragile and yet very lively. Spring types often seem to be fresher and more juvenescent than other colour types and tend to preserve this effect for a lifetime. Spring women and men have a yellow skin undertone. They bloom in bright, blazing, and soft colours, which also have a yellow undertone.

SKIN
The skin is bright, almost pale and transparent with an undertone between lutescent and gently golden. Spring types quickly redden and then have an intensive red. Many spring types have gold brown freckles.

HAIR
Flaxen, yellow blond, honey coloured to red blond, red hairy or gold to medium brown. Dark brown and black are seldom. The hair always shows a golden shimmer.

EYES
Blue, green, petrol blue, grey blue or water blue eyes.
Very rare are fairly dark and intensively green or brown eyes.

COLOURS
Creamy clay, ivory, bright beige and bright gold camel, honey-yellow, milk chocolate, gold brown, leather-coloured, gleaming gold yellow, sunny yellow, bright orange, peach coloured pink, peaches, apricot, salmon, bright tomato red, orange red, coral red, bright yellow-green tones, yellow turquoise, evergreen blue, bright blazing aqua and turquoise, warm grey.

JEWELLERY
Gold, gold tones, two-coloured jewelleries, predominantly gold tones. Pearls – creamy or yellow tone. Ivory. Do not use too unwieldy jewellery.

AVOID
Pure white, black, dark, cold, hard colours. Subdued, dirty colours. All colours with blue, cold undertones.

Julia is very natural. Until now, while choosing her clothes she only really paid attention to comfort: the outfits had to be practical and easy to wear. She has recently got a new job, however, and now she wants to change.

Our stylist has indicated the colours that suit her. As Julia is an autumn woman, she can wear all earth colours and tones from the spice palette. She should avoid cold pastel tones, as well as black and white.

We have picked a city outfit for her which is not only suitable for work but also for strolling around town. It is practical and tasteful at the same time, while thanks to its lively zebra stripe pattern it is very trendy too.

A military-style jacket is comfortable, but also suitable for the city. Jeans, which are Julia's favourite type of clothing anyway, can be combined with a big handbag. This should be accompanied by this season’s hit: an animal-print T-sh

make-up-vor

Brown and beige harmonise wonderfully with Julia's reddish hair and help give her face more expression.
