ORSAY, a French Mulliez Group company, was founded in Willstätt in Baden in 1975.
ORSAY designs with passion a range of feminine, reasonably-priced outfits which allow women individually to express their femininity at all times. The satisfying feeling of being fashionably dressed with ORSAY on every occasion is now enjoyed by women in eight European countries.
Behind the brand and ORSAY’s unique FEMININE STYLE is a modern, highly flexible company. Actual trends are acted upon with a clear concept, with the aim of offering young women and women who still feel young fashionable outfits in more than 520 shops, located exclusively in first-class locations and in highly frequented shopping centres.
ORSAY employs 4,000 competent and fashion-conscious employees worldwide.

Purchasing
Chic and feminine fashions depend on keeping abreast of the latest trends. As a fashion company we place our bets on our young, highly expert product managers, buyers and designers, who have mastered all the tools of procurement marketing as well as how to implement trends and ideas as quickly as possible. As professional negotiation partners, they work hand in hand with our suppliers in designing constantly up-to-date collections.

Marketing and communication
Here everything is oriented to our customers and their needs. Every day our employees in the fields of market research, communication, customer relationship management and merchandising work to satisfy the every wish of our customers, either by providing specific information at the point of sale, or through our professional internet presentation (including an online shop), our customer club, and through the attractive presentation of goods in our branches.
The field of marketing is further responsible for maintaining the brand image and for safeguarding the company’s corporate identity, as reflected in company’s image and appearance both within the company and to its customers and the general public.

Human resources
Expert human resources (HR) staff are always open to our employees’ needs, as our prime aim is to create working conditions in which each member of the team can contribute and unfold his/her individual skills and thus make an individual contribution to the success of the company. We make full use of all the tools of modern HR work such as personnel recruitment, personnel supervision, personnel development and personnel marketing. In addition, the HR Division acts as a consultant and business partner with regard to personnel and legal questions, and seeks to ensure the further development of our employees.

Finances and administration
Without a professionally working administration and financial management, it would not be possible for a company such as Orsay to be successful. Our colleagues in the Financial Department are responsible for the fast and reliable processing of payment transactions between the company’s headquarters and its branches, and with our business partners.
Our controlling is practical and always up to date, and thus makes an important contribution to the decision-making process. Acquired expertise provides important information for the company’s strategic and operational planning.

Sales
Our employees in the shops are retailers because they passionately believe in their work, and act as ambassadors for the brand. As professional fashion consultants, they always have an open ear to the wishes of our customers.
We make sure our young sales teams are fit for the everyday sales routine by offering them extensive training courses in sales, customer service and merchandising.
A professional presentation of goods, specific sales promotions and our employees’ friendly, relaxed manner at the point of sale round off our service offer. These success factors help ensure that our customers come back time and time again.

IT
In order to guarantee a smooth data exchange between our administration and the ORSAY shops, a team of experts ensures that our efficient central computers work day and night. Thus, we are always up to date as far as the entry of essential information such as revenue, warehouse stocks etc. is concerned, enabling fast data access.
Our expert software development and technical system support teams are responsible for providing user-friendly programs. All departments are networked to each other through the latest communication tools, thereby ensuring a fast and paperless exchange of information.

Logistics
Millions of articles are controlled, labelled, distributed and dispatched each year at ORSAY. Our logistics employees are responsible for the precise organisation of daily deliveries to all 520 branches.
Sales-oriented thinking and action, swift reactions to sold-out stock through automatic follow-up delivery and a customised follow-up dispatch of articles – here too our employees are customer-oriented and trend-oriented in the way that they approach their tasks. They use specific tests to determine whether the goods meet our quality standards via ORSAY’s modern quality control system, constantly adapting their specialist expertise to new materials and trends.
The colleagues in the Building Department are responsible for supervising our building projects up to turnkey handover, the CAD-based creation of building plans, the optimum execution of all structural measures in the course of new branch openings and refurbishments, as well as their maintenance.

Expansion
ORSAY continues to develop further. Today we already have 520 branches in Germany and 18 other European countries. The Expansion Department is responsible for the development of new markets and locations. Our experts analyse the most important markets and locations and select new properties that are ideally situated in first-class locations and highly frequented shopping centres. Through professional cooperation with our partners in the real estate business, we ensure that the opening of each new ORSAY shop in a new town or a new country will be a success.
